A crack at Vedic

I'm mostly playing mercenaries at the moment, but took a break from that to take Vedic for a spin. I ran a list very similar in playstyle to my Tohaa lists, but craftier and, it turns out, not as effective. To wit:

Basic idea was to have the 5-man Dakini link with spare dude (CSU) hold the fort along with a proxy sniper. The Asura would alpha strike against MSV targets on turn 1 using cybermask before dropping into suppression. If she dies I've got chain of command. She will take people with her. The Deva would then break with a Harris, leaving the sniper at home, and go off and murder people Gao Rael style with 4-4 MSV2 spitfire and B5.

I played against Tohaa. Long story short, I forgot that Gao Rael's could smoke shoot. This would have been fine if I had placed my Proxy such that it could kill stuff coming to try and drop my Dakini team to 3 man (i.e. get rid of sixth-sense), but I instead tried to triple hit the Gao Rael. Instead a Rasail managed to down 2 members of the link (though also basically died in the process), which left the Gao Rael sniper free to win ftf against the snipers. My turn I clawed it back a bit with the Asura killing the symbiont and doing a wound, then the proxy climbing up to see the prone Rael and kill him, but I got a bit greedy and tried to kill the Nikoul as well so that I had board control (was necessary to prevent my Asura from dying). Instead the Nikoul made an armour roll and then won the ftf on its turn. My Asura died to Makauls in melee who were unmolested in approach, and then I didn't have the orders/guns to pull it back.

My listbuilding thing I learnt was that Dakinis don't go prone when they die (duh!), so my plan of just repairing them continuously with the proxy engineer was foolish - they would just be put all the way to dead by a smart opponent.

My next list is called "The Dakini Bomb". It involves having enough Dakinis that you can charge forward with 5 Dakinis in a link moving at 6-4 (maybe dragging a CSU for boarding shotgun) using counterintelligence and strategos 1 to ensure you have 10 orders, while also leaving behind a Dakini Harris with sniper and Deva. With a marksman HMG you should be able to clear all parapets and make the turn into the DZ to murder face. Once the alpha strike is done, you use a command token to put the remaining members of the alpha team into suppression, and another to reform the Deva, sniper and chump back home into a core for the reactive turn (Apsara jumps into sniper, supportware goes back on). My concern is that you are easily speed bumped by mines and chain rifles because you can't dodge for shit and are paper thin. That's true of the Rui Shi though and she seems to do fine, so maybe I'm overreacting.
